Elfred and Wally had traveled for what they felt was forever. The snow made it diffucult to see any further then 5 feet in front. They were now navigating their way through a forest filled with trees that were lined with giant icicles.
" Watch out Wally, you don't want any of those icicles falling on you." warned Elfred.
Wally led them under a log that covered a small underpass filled with frozen leaves. Wally slipped as he went under the log and landed in a pile of leaves. Elfred helped him up, only to hear sticks above them snapping and cracking .
" What's that noise?" asked Wally.
" It sounds like something is near us." answered Elfred.
They stealthly moved their way on the edge of the underpass as they now held their backs against the edge. Elfred peeked through an opening in the leaves, seeing something in the distance. He couldn't determine what it was but as he continued to look on, a giant leg nearly stepped on his head. Elfred fell down and was buried in the midst of the leaves.
" There's something out there." Elfred whispered in a nervous tone.
Wally peeked out, " Elfred, it's only a moose. It is just eating some moss on the log."
Elfred lifted himself off the ground and climbed out with Wally. The moose looked at thme both.
" I'm sorry, did I disturb you two." asked the moose.
" No sir, we thought something dangerous was out here." replied Elfred.
The moose responded, " Nope, it's only me."
Elfred and Wally chuckled together. " So what are you doing out here?"
" I'm a nomad. I don't live anywhere. I've been wandering around for almost a year now." said the moose.
Elfred looked at Wally, " Oh, we are traveling to Elf Hills to find my parents. I'm Elfred and he's Wally."
" Nice to meet you guys, I'm Murray." He spoke with a mouthful of moss.
Wally whispered something in Elfred's ear. Elfred turned to Murray, " Murray, would you like to accompany us on our journey to Elf Hills?"
" A journey? I love journeys. Of course I would." said Murray as he pranced around.
Elfred climbed up onto Murray's back, then Wally leaped up and they both sat atop Murray.
" Okay Murray, next stop: Elf Hills."

Chapter 4: The Journey Begins
Elfred woke up early in the morning, all ready for his big adventure. Elfred went out to the kitchen to see Belle and Noah sitting at the table eating some early morning fish.
He was going to tell them of his big plan. " I now know that my parents are in Elf Hills, atleast I'm hoping they are still there. Last night, I decided that I wanted to find them and meet my parents."
Belle and Noah looked at each other, " Well, how do you think you will get there?"
He answered quickly," Wally and I are going to hike there, it probably will take us a half a day to get there."
" I'm not going to to stop you since they are your parents, but, what happens if you get lost or if your parents aren't there anymore?" Belle told Elfred.
" Don't worry, I'll be fine. I've got this all planned out." he replied.
He left the room, and packed up a small bag of his belongings. He packed a ski cap, snow goggles, some warm mittens and his own invention, the Snowball Launcher. He made this when he was 8, it can hold up to 12 snowballs and can shoot 30 yards.
Elfred went back to the kitchen, and saw Belle had set out some food for him in a little bag,
" Elfred, please be careful out there, you still are young and I don't want you to get hurt."
" It's okay, I'll be fine. When I find my parents, I will make sure I call the new phone you just got. " responded Elfred.
Saying no more, Elfred hugged Noah and Belle one last time. " When my parents and I are together, the first thing we will do is come back here."
Belle spoke, " Okay, good luck. I hope you find your parents."
Elfred walked out the igloo's opening, looked back at Belle and Noah, and continued on. Elfred was so excited to begin his journey. His first step was to meet Wally at the pond. He saw Wally sitting on a fish bucket with his knapsack around his shoulder.
" Well Wally, you ready?" asked Elfred.
" Of course I am, this is going to be so cool. I have never been to another town before." answered Wally.
Elfred walked on the left and Wally waddled on the right side as they began their expedition to Elf Hills.

Chapter 3: Discovering the Truth
The igloo was quiet and still. Moments later, the silence was broken with, " Happy Birthday Efred!" Elfred had just walked into the igloo after a long day of fishing in the nearby pond and saw the igloo packed with his family and friends. Belle and Noah Chillington, Elfred's penguin parents, organized the surprise party.
" Hey Elfred, do you feel any older?" asked Elfred's best friend, Wally.
" Hey Wally, I still feel the same." replied Elfred.
Wally was a Fairy Penguin, which is the smallest type of penguin standing at 16 inches. Even though he was small, he was the bravest penguin Elfred ever saw. Elfred met Wally at Ice Valley fishing pond, where all the young penguins went to fish.
Elfred now was 13 years old and as an elf, he is now able to work in Santa's Workshop. But Elfred doesn't go to the school like most elves, as they go to the National Toy Building Academy. Elfred doesn't go to school since penguins do not get an education, they learn from their parents.
Lately, Elfred has been thinking about Elf Hills, and how he wishes sometimes that he lived there.
The last guest had left the igloo before night fall, and Elfred walked to Ice Valley Pond. He met up with Wally there.
Elfred spoke to Wally, " Well, now that I am 13, I am considered a working elf. I should be working at Santa's Workshop. I'm not saying I don't like it here, I just wish that I could be with other elves."
Wally answered, " I understand what you mean. What I want to know, is how did you ever come to be a son of two penguins? I have known you for my whole life, and you have never told me the reason you are here."
Elfred stared blankly in the sky, " I don't know. I have never asked myself that question before."
Trying to end the conversation, Elfred cast his fishing rod into the pond. Wally grabbed his, and the topic was never brought up again.
Elfred headed back for his igloo, carrying two squids that he had caught himself. While walking home, Elfred thought to himself about what Wally had said. Wally's question was stuck in his head throughout the night. He had to find out the truth of why he is here.
Elfred walked inside and saw his parents eating some krill, " Mom, Dad. Can we talk about something?"
They answered in unison, " Of course."
Elfred began speaking, " While Wally and I were up at the pond, he asked me a question that I didn't have an answer too."
" What did he ask you?" replied Belle.
" He asked me why I am an elf, why I live here, and why do I have penguins for parents."
Looking at each other, Belle and Noah whispered in each other's ears. Sighing, Belle began to talk, " Ok Elfred, listen. We knew one day you would ask us this question and me and your dad promised ourselves we would tell you. 13 years ago, actually on this day 13 years ago, your dad and me were approached by a woman, her name was Holly, and she was being pursued by police elves. She was holding a newborn elfin. Holly, risking everything to save her elfin, handed the elfin over to us. She told us to raise him and protect him until she returned. That elfin was you."
Elfred was overwhelmed. He looked at them with an open mouth. Breathing heavily, he then asked, " So your not my parents?"
Belle and Noah both looked down and shook their heads. Elfred began to cry, and Noah wrapped his comforting wings around him.
Looking ashamed at what she had done, Belle said, " I'm sorry we didn't tell you sooner, but we wanted to tell you at the right time."
Elfred was speechless. He thought of Elf Hills, and all that he missed out on. Wondering where his parents were today. So Elfred, still amazed at what he had just heard, asked Belle and Noah if they knew where his parents were.
Answering Elfred, Noah replied, " All we know is that they were from Elf Hills."
Elfred put the two squids he caught at the pond on the table, and said he was going to go to bed.
He sat on his bed, thinking of a way to find his parents. His eyes were heavy now, but he spoke silently to himself before he fell back on his bed, covering himself with a thick, wool blanket.
" Tomorrow... I am going to Elf Hills."
" Hey Elfred, do you feel any older?" asked Elfred's best friend, Wally.

Chapter 2: From One Heart To Another
The snow smacked the faces of Holly and Frosty as their bodies were lying in the snow filled cavern. Holly's eyes motioned left to right as she took in her surroundings. Still clutching Elfred, she lifted her body up off the ground. Frosty was nestled on the side of the sled still unconscious. Holly shook Frosty until he budged. Frosty gazed at her, amazed that he survived the rough crash.
Holly spoke to Frosty, " We have to continue on our way before the police discover the crash site."
Looking around, Frosty spotted a diminutive passage, one that an elf could only get through.
" Look! We should be able to make our way through the opening." Frosty remarked, still a little numb from the landing.
Concerned, Holly answered, " It doesn't look safe, who know's what could be there."
" Would you rather sit in this cavern hoping the police won't find our sled mangled up or take a risk that could help us get away?"
You're right, I guess this is our only hope." said Holly.
Going in first was Frosty. Frosty crawled in and then came out, waving for Holly to follow. Both Frosty and Holly, who had her arms wrapped around Elfred, made their way along the tunnel.
" Look, I can see an opening." gleefully shouted Frosty.
Frosty popped his head out of the hole. He looked left then right before coming back down.
" It's clear, I think we are safe now." told Frosty to Holly.
Standing in the open, they looked around at the deserted tundra they now stood on. It was dark out and night began to set on them.
Looking tired and beat, Holly began to speak, " We should get some rest, I'm still sore from the crash and Elfred has experienced more action then any other newborn elfin has"
Listening to his wife's requests, Frosty stopped near a tree and crashed to the ground and said,
" Okay, we will rest for now, but when dawn appears, we will continue on."
Holly picked some berries off the tree, crushed them up till it was just juice from the berries and fed Elfred. Frosty, Holly and Elfred fell asleep nestled along the roots of the tree.
Few hours past before Holly woke up, hearing crackling sounds from the distance. She popped hear head up looking around like a periscope on a submarine. The sound grew nearer, feet slapped the frozen ground. Holly tugged on Frosty's long brown hair.
She whispered in his ear, " There's something out there."
Frosty turned his head and saw a swift movement. Standing up now, a snowball soared past his face, nearly taking his eye out.
" Run!" shouted Frosty.
Holly grabbed Elfred and began sprinting as fast as her tiny feet would take her. Frosty ran with her, but was struck by a snowball in the back of his head. Frosty was dazed, but cupped his hands together, formed a snowball and stood back up. Looking for the elf or creature that attacked, he saw another snowball fly over his head.
Holly stopped and look back, shouting," Frosty! Hurry up!".
Frosty was searching for the nefarious creature before answering back, " Go on, I will catch up."
Holly refused to leave Frosty. Watching her husband, Holly was stuck with a snowball, dropping Elfred on the ground. Frosty saw the elf and hurled the snowball with all his power. The elf dropped to the ground motionless.
Frosty ran to Elfred, and helped Holly up, " Get out of here, I will catch up with you. I have a feeling that more police elves will be coming."
Holly took Elfred from Frosty and hugged Frosty, whispering in his ear, " Please don't get hurt."
Before Holly could get away, another snowball headed for their direction, landing just in front of them.
Frosty quickly made two snowballs, clutching them in both hands. " Go, I will be fine."
Holly left Frosty and ran for safety. Frosty dodged another snowball and this time he spotted a group of 4 elves making snowballs. Launchin snowballs back and forth, Frosty's arm began to fatigue. He held his ground, but could not match the firepower of the police, and was submerged with dozens of snowballs. His body hit the snow hard and the battle came to an end. Holly heard the screams of the police elves and knew Frosty was in trouble. She began to cry and fell to the ground. Moments passed before she heard the elves gaining ground on her. Holly regained her composure and moved on. She was in trouble now as she heard the engines of the sleds coming after her. She could not escape this one. She headed for the frozen pond. Suddenley a snowball hit her ankle. Holly stumbled but kept on moving. Looking for someplace to lose the police, she saw an igloo. Approaching the igloo, she could not hear the elves anymore. Holly wandered what was inside. Curious, she entered the igloo. Sitting around a table were three penguins.
" Who are you?" asked the bigger penguin, who she assumed was the father.
" I am Holly Tinsel, I am from Elf Hills and as of now there are dozens of police elves after me."
Looking confused, the father penguin asked, " Why are you being chased by the police elves?"
Holly answered, " My husband and I had the first elfin in 36 years and the government is after our newborn elfin."
The igloo was silent after that. The silence broke when an elf shouted out, " We know you are in their, come out now or we will bury the igloo."
Filled with fear, Holly asked the penguins if their was any way out.
They answered, " Yes, we built an underground tunnel linking our igloo and all of the other igloos in our town."
Feeling reassured, Holly looked at Elfred, hugged him and gave him a kiss on the foreheard.
" Okay, I want you to keep my elfin protected and raise him to be the best elf a mother could ask for. Take him through the tunnels, and I will stay here so the police will not look for an exit."
Looking astonished at what was just said, the mother penguin opened up the exit, which was well hidden as it was behind the couch and blended in with the wall.
The police elves shouted," We are coming in now!"
Holly teared up and her body shook with goosebumps, " Please go now. Make sure you tell Elfred of this moment when he is old enough to understand and please, tell him how much me and his father loved him."
The penguins fled through the tunnel. Holly watched, realizing that this may be the last time she ever sees Elfred.
The police elves poured in through the doors, and took Holly out of the igloo.
Holly spoke to Frosty, " We have to continue on our way before the police discover the crash site."

Chapter 1: A New Blessing
Frosty Tinsel was trimming the fresh scented tree when a crash came from the kitchen. Scampering his tiny feet, he skidded to a halt when he saw his charming wife, Holly, gasping for breath.
"Honey, it's time." uttered Holly.
Grabbing his wife, Frosty bustled his way to the ski sled in the freezing cold. Helping Holly get set in the sled, Frosty started his newly bought and recently painted ski sled. Manuevering his car through the bustling city streets, Holly gasped for breath but imagined the remarkable ending this day will have: a newborn elfin.
" This is crazy, I've never seen so much reindeer out on the road in December." shouted Frosty out the window.
Cutting in and out of lanes, Frosty finally came upon Peppermint County Hospital. Holding Holly's hand, Frosty guided them through the main doors and into the hospital.
"Help! My wife is about to give birth." shouted Frosty.
Three nurses arrived to escort Holly into her room. Two doctors entered the room, unaware of what they were in for.
" So what is the problem we have today?" asked the doctor.
" My wife is about to have an elfin at any moment." said Frosty in a commanding tone.
In Elf Hills, an elfin has not been born for 36 years. An astonishing moment for the Tinsel family and the town of Elf Hills.
" Please, help my wife and elfin." begged Frosty.
Waiting in the damp waiting room, Frosty was approached by an elderly elf.
" Are you the father of the newborn elfin?" asked the elf.
" Yes I am." answered Frosty proudly.
" Oh no, this is not good." said the elderly elf.
" What do you mean. This is an amazing moment in my life." spoke Frosty.
" You do know what happened to the last elfin to be born in Elf Hills. Don't you?" questioned the elf.
" No, what happened?" wondered Frosty, now curious about the topic.
" Listen my boy, I will briefly explain to you what happened, since I am not supposed to be here and the government is probably arranging search parties who are out to get me. I am Harold Feliz, I am the Uncle of the last elfin born. My nephew was kidnapped by the King himself. The King told my brother and his wife that the city did not fancy another elf living here. So in a brisk moment, the King swiped my nephew right out of my sister-in-laws hand's. I have been exploring the city for traces of my nephew, but have not found him. I did find one piece of evidence that explains why the King does not want anymore people in the city."
Sitting on the cushioned chair, which was not a flat cushion from Frosty digging into the seat, Frosty's mouth dropped to the floor, and with his eye twitching, he managed to utter a few words, " What did you find?"
" A journal, written by the King, explaining his plan. A plan so brutal that I have not told anyone of it. But, I shall tell you. The King has developed a plan to ruin Christmas and the destruction of Santa Clause.
Staring with a blank look, Frosty left the room and waited out front of his wife's room. Moments later, he saw Holly and their adorable elfin standing in thr hall. Managing to smile even with the awful news he heard, Frosty grabbed his wife's arm and led them out the back entrance.
Hiding behind a snow covered tree, Frosty explained the story the elderly elf had told him to his wife. Crying, Holly spoke with tears rolling down her cheeks, " What now?"
Without answering, Frosty dashed to the parking lot. Looking to his left, he saw the elderly elf being brought out by two police elves. Wanting to avoid the police, Frosty crawled to his ski sled. He slowly got on the sled, and briskly left the area, heading for the back of the hospital. He stopped in front of the tree in the back, and picked up Holly who was cradling their fragile elfin, whispering in his ears that everything's going to be alright.
Weaving through the crowded streets, Frosty nearly hit a reindeer but quickly reacted and hit the brakes. Speeding up again, Holly looked back, seeing two police sleds on their tail.
" Hurry up, they are following us!" she shouted.
Holly held her elfin close to her like Santa holding onto his cookies. She kept him warm while she bawled her eyes out, unaware of what will happen from here on.
Navigating the streets, Frosty saw a police barricade on Snowflake Lane. Trying to avoid contact with police, Frosty spun the car to the side, going off the road. Frosty guided the car into Candycane Acres, hoping to get away. Colossal sized candycanes towered over the sled. Frosty did well in avoiding contact with the candycanes.
Gazing at the newborn elfin , Holly spoke out loud, " We shall name you Elfred Tinsel."
Listening to his wife, Frosty lost sight of the road, and hit a log stuck in the frozen ground. The sled flipped and twisted violently in mid-air and landed in a snow filled cavern.
"Honey, it's time." uttered Holly.
Grabbing his wife, Frosty bustled his way to the ski sled in the freezing cold. Helping Holly get set in the sled, Frosty started his newly bought and recently painted ski sled.

The History of Elf Hills
On a cold and blustery day in the late 1800's, a group of unique creatures came upon a desolate land with remains of long departed viking villages. The creatures, which would later be known to us today as Elves, claimed rights to the land. Twenty years after the founding of the land, known as Elf Hills, struggle in rule became a major conflict. King Jingle was the dominant leader of Elf Hills. He led with a fierce attitude and listened to none of the citizens opinions. As the town evolved, the citizens began feeling no need for a dictator as King Jingle was. At a vital time, the citizens revolted, led by the chivalrous Kris Evergreen they ovethrew the King and forced him to flee the city. This event was later known as the Evergreen Vanquish. The town prospered under the democratic rule of Kris Evergreen. In the early 1900's, around the time of the Great Depression in America, aroused a jolly ole' fellow known as Santa Clause. Santa enticed the elves with his imaginative ideas and sense of comfort towards them. Santa owned a prosperous business in toy making. He informed the elves of a plague that led to the evacuation of his workers. Santa's business was in doubt because of the lack of workers he currently had. Santa and his immense ideas, thought of offering the elves jobs at his workshop. Hearing of his offer, the elves gratefuly accepted this offer and saved Santa's workshop.
